Don’t let your dealership get knocked during the pandemic.

A Can-Do and an optimistic attitude are what will persevere during these trying times. Now is the time that all businesses should think outside the box, and rather than waiting for the pandemic to pass, see the silver linings and use this as an opportunity to focus on aspects of your business that may have been previously overlooked.

We live in the age of technology and with so many people avoiding going out in public, they turn to the internet to run their errands, to do shopping and even to buy cars online.

Here are some great marketing tips to focus on during lockdown:

1. Be adaptable.

Get all the required Covid safety protocols in place. Give your staff all the necessary Covid safety training. If possible, hire a Fogging company to disinfect your showroom and offices. Be sure to take pictures and announce all your Covid Safety Protocols you have taken on your social media pages and websites. Doing this will provide peace of mind for clients who would like to visit your dealership.

2. Showcase your stock online.

Keep your website up to date with all your available stock. If you do not have a website, be sure to post your stock on classifieds websites, social media. We also encourage all dealerships to load their specials and deals directly onto the Mobility Loyalty app.

3. Take advantage of the age of information.

Provide your clients with the ability to do internet meetings or video calls if they are interested in a vehicle. If they are interested in a vehicle, this will reduce the time they need to come out to view and test-drive the vehicle.

4. Everyone is on Social Media.

During lockdowns, the general public is watching Social Media closely for any updates on the pandemic. Take advantage of this and double down on your social media activity. Use this opportunity to appear more frequently by advertising as much as you can.

5. The proof is in the pudding!

Get your clients to write reviews on Facebook and on Google Reviews, build your reputation. Even negative reviews can be turned into something positive. It’s all about how you turn it around and deal with begrudged clients to make them happy. The general public will see that you care about your client’s concerns and address them appropriately.

6. Don’t Give Up!

The most important advice that we can provide you with is to stay positive and be opportunistic. We don’t know how long this pandemic will affect our daily lives, so it is important that we adapt to the new way of doing business.

“It is not the strongest or most intelligent who will survive and thrive but those who can best manage change.”
